FALL "LEGG WORK PRODUCTIONS" AFTER SCHOOL DANCE WORKSHOPS

Ok its fall my friends and you know what that means...This is when I normally get rolling for the new school year with Legg work productions b-boy/girl fundemental workshops, taught by myself "DADDY LONG LEGGS". Right now I have just started up 3 schools in counting here in Providence.

Legg work productions is my dance performance company. I started this company about a year ago and its in its infancy stages right now. I teach fundemental B-Boy/Girl classes and train kids-adults how to dance/perform this wonderful urban artformm we know as breakin.
Though these classes have been incubated mostly within the school systems extended day programs, Legg work productions is also available at any workspace or private facilities for a 10 week or more workshop. We train ages 6 to adults and accomodate most any situations. So if you own/manage a space and have exisiting dance classes this is your ticket to get Urban styles dance i.e. "BREAKIN" at your location. If you dont already offer this then maybe you might want to start up a program, weather commercial or private at your school, home or office.

LEGG WORK PRODUCTIONS is about teaching some of the foundation moves like sweeps, chairs, babies, spins/glides, drops, 6 step, top rock, shuffles, body rolls, and basic basics of brooklyn rock techniques. Its a 10 week or more program that starts the students from ground up. I intensify the importance of stretching and focus factor/determination. I also show my students important documentation about the history/culture of breakin, battle footage and I give them verbal talk soup about my personal experiences with B-boying. Ultimately at the end of the workshop the students normally exhibit some kind of showcase of what they aquired. Best believe my kids always tear the roof off too thanks to thier trainer, themselves and Most importantly the cultural significance of "LOVE" for this artform. So heres what we have for this fall so far...

Now servicing:

THE MET In Prov, RI (public Street)

MONDAYS/WEDENSDAYS 3:30-4PM Sept 2nd to Dec 11th
This was a school I started doing this past summer and had an outstanding turnout with the younger kids who attended the MET's summer camp. These guys were like 6 or 7 years old and they turned the "TALENT SHOW" out toward the end of the session. I had 6 weeks to work with them and they did so well. Now Im back by demand working with the 9th graders as a part of an afterschool extra curricular program offering my classes. This program features LEGG WORK PRODUCTIONS as one of thier workshops. End of the prgram here is dec 16th I will hit you with the war report. Rock rock on!

BLACKSTONE ACADEMY (in pawtucket RI)

TUESDAYS 3:30-5 Sept 16th to Nov 18th
Blackstone academy is another great highshool I am pleased to be at/ Brand new space and this the 1st time this program is offered here. Its got a great flarge acility to dance in. Ive been placed to work in community environment. The kids are great too, my young ladies are already getting they rock-on. Lets see how it goes for this 10 week classes.

UCAP (urban collaborative accellerated program) In Prov, RI

THURSDAYS 3:05-5:05 Sept 25th-Dec 11th
UCAP is a small accellerator program that helps kids get back on track with thier grades and academics. Its a middle/9th grade highschool aged program. We started this school just last thursday on the 25th and the response was wonderful...The conferance room for viewing material etc is kinda like an executive companies meeting room so its comfortable for focusing on our B-boy "politics". The ultimate turnout at this school will be dope.

WANT TO BOOK LEGGS FOR 10 WEEKS OR MORE OF DANCE CLASSES AT YOUR SCHOOLS, INSTITUTIONS OR EVEN PRIVATE LESSONS? CONTACT LEGGWORKPROD@GMAIL.COM // 401-632-5107..AVAILABLE NOW FOR FRIDAY-SUNDAYS THIS FALL.

OLD SCHOOL ARCHIVES IS BACK "RARETIES EDITION 1"

NOTE FROM "DJ LEGGS"

OK ITS BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE IVE SHARED MY COLLECTION OF RARE OR PIONEERING RECORDS WITH THE DJ COMMUNITY. WELL IM BACK! OLDSCHOOL ARCHIVES IS A LIL SOMETHING I PUT TOGETHER ALMOST A YEAR & A HALF AGO THAT SHOWCASES MUSICAL GENRES WITHIN HIP HOP TIMELINES. THIS ALONG SIDE HISTORY ABOUT THE MUSIC AND OR ARTISTS AND ALSO OF COURSE SHARING THE ACTUAL TRKS...

WE COVER ANYTHING FROM DISCO RAP, TO ELECTRO, TO ALL IN BETWEEN. CHECK OUT WHAT I HAVE FOR YALL THIS TIME. IF YOU WERE RECIEVING MY MUSIC BEFORE WE DID A FEW VOLUMES OF DISCO RAP ERA WHICH IS REALLY THE ORIGINAL DEFINING START OF WHEN HIP HOP RECORDS WERE FIRST PUT ON WAX AND THE ERA OF RAP ON RADIO AND VINYL. THE WHOLE PARTY SCENE AS WE KNOW IT WAS HAPPENING LIVE AND THEN RECORDED...THERE WEREN'T REALLY A SOLID "HIP HOP" SOUND IN TERMS OF THE BACKING MUSIC, IT WAS LIVE HOUSE BANDS OF FUNK & DISCO OR MUSIC CREATED IN THAT REFLECTION. MANY OF THE MUSIC WAS ACTUALLY MIRRORS OF ACTUAL TUNES AT THE TIME WHICH WAS DISCO DRIVEN. ACTUAL BREAK-BEAT FAVORITES CUT UP BY THE DJ & RAPPED OVER BY THIER MC'S WERE THE FOUNDATION. HIP HOP HAS ALWAYS BEEN HEAVY ON SAMPLING AND BORROWING SINCE DAY 1. HIP HOP MUSIC AS A MORE DEFINING GENRE STARTED WITH THE "ELECTRO FUNK ERA" HOWEVER THE ARTISTS WERE INDEED CREATING HIP HOP AS COINED BEFORE THEN. ON OLDSCHOOL ARCHIVES WE ALSO DID SOME "ELECTRO CLASSICS"AND THEN A BLAST CALLED "TO THE BEAT YALL" WHICH WAS REALLY MUSIC AND AN ERA WHEN HIP HOP MUSIC WAS BEING SET ASIDE AS NOT JUST A TREND ANY MORE. WE WERE EXPOSED TO THAT GOOD OL 808 SOUND, FUNKY DRUMS, SNARES, KICKS & SAMPLES & SCRATCHES. THE RECORDS WERE MAKING MORE SALES, BECOMING A MARKETABLE ENTITY AND IT WAS THEN CONSIDERED A LEGITAMATE GENRE OF MUSIC IN SOCIETY (AT LEAST TO OUR GOOD OLE PUBLIC EYE OUR BELOVED MEDIA HAHA)

SOME OF THESE I HAD TO RIP FROM MY PERSONAL VINYL COLLECTION YALL AND JUST FOR YOU! AND I HAVE PLENY OF MORE BUT THIS IS FOR NOW.

WELL HERE WE ARE WITH......

"OLDSCHOOL ARCHIVES THE RARETIES #1"

SOME OF YALL MAY HAVE THESE RECORDS BUT CERTAINLY ALOT OF YALL MAY OF MISSED THESE. PARTLY BECAUSE THESE ARE HARD TO FIND OR WERENT EXACTLY AS BIG AS SOME OF THE MORE MAIN STREAM RECORDS BACK THEN. NEVER THE LESS THIER SIGNIFICANCE WITHIN THE ERAS OF 1980 AND UP ARE GREAT......THEN THERES SOME THAT ARE A BIT MORE MAIN STREAM, IM MIXING IT UP FOR YALL SO ENJOY.
