"BEAT THIS"

SOME OF THE BEST BATTLES/ RESPONSES EVER CAUGHT ON WAX
"The battle" The biggest Piece of Hip Hop artistry. Since day one Its was understood that to be the best at what you do you had to have a performance. You had to be able to stand out and you had to be seasoned. Weather you were a writer, an MC A B-boy "COMPETITION IS TRADITION" Some great MC's were caught up in scuffles that often went from live to being recorded because either the record labels thought "Hey this is a great idea for people to hear these battles between this one or that one" People would eat this up. Everyone loves to see a good battle. Hold up 1 sec before the advent of pressing these battlles on wax and the whole media hype thing, the battle was already in full bloom. The live throwdowns and some of the most fierce never even being recorded extended as far back as 1977. So what I did was go through a few of my archives and picked out some battles. Theres plenty more out there but these are just a few. Also included below are some bonus "LIVE BATLES" Enjoy

Note: I personally think that in terms of today a bulk of the diss records or battles that go back and fourth are a waste of time. Many of these battles go out on mixtapes, live mixshows or online and fizzle out quite fast. Many of the battles are by people we really dont care to hear from. Theres just wayy too many battles, I think of it almost as watching the bouts before the actual "FEATURE FIGHT" Only we havent seen a "FEATURE FIGHT" Probably since Jay & Nas, Jada Biggie & Tupac & Sigel and a few others..Ide love to actually see Jay & 50 go at it. I totally agree with KRS one on the opinion pole thing by the people or the Live TV Battle, and of course the Pressing of this fight on wax would be dope too because It will Allow collectors, DJs etc to have this for nostalgia and would also bring us back to the actual "ON WAX" era. Of course the internet will blow this up as well for digital mediation. A Jay & 50 BAtlle by two heavyweights of this caliber is Hip Hop all the way. Ok now on with the music.
